Does the Paralda also use a carbon filter in addition to the HEPA filter?

No. We chose not to include carbon in the filter so the unit would have the highest airflow possible and wouldn't need to limit the amount of HEPA media. The main purpose of the unit is to remove particles from the air such as pollen, dust, and bacteria. To effectively remove odors with carbon requires a substantial amount of carbon, which would require a much larger filter (and a larger air purifier).

In November 2008 Alen Corporation will be introducing a HEPA/odor filter using our MCP (molecular conversion process) to address odor removal. Please visit the Alen Corporation website for more information.
