Guide Review - Terro Liquid Ant Baits

Effectiveness:

There's no denying how well Terro knows its target. The plastic container Terro uses allows ants to easily access the liquid borax solution and begin carrying it back to the colony. Ants are obviously attracted to Terro's sweet solution, so you'll initially see more ants, but after just a few days they have all but disappeared. Seriously.

The best part about Terro Liquid Ant Baits is that they serve as an effective solution to an existing ant problem, but they also work as a preventative measure. Simply placing the plastic casings strategically around your kitchen or perimeter will take care of any current or incoming colonies of ants.

Green Factor:

Though we'd like to see Terro offer their Liquid Ant Baits in recycled plastic and cardboard packaging, that point seems petty considering how eco-friendly this product actually is.

Terro is indeed a pesticide, but it contains borax, a substance that measures very, very low in toxicity, especially compared to alternative pest control products. The EPA recognizes borax as one of the least toxic pesticides available to consumers, and many homemade ant control recipes will direct you to use borax as a main ingredient. At least with Terro Liquid Ant Baits the process is clean and convenient, making it much simpler and safer than creating your own borax-based concoction.

That said, Terro is still mildly dangerous, and appropriate measures need to be taken when handling this product. First, keep Terro Liquid Ant Baits out of reach of children and pets, open or not. Second, don't use or store Terro Liquid Ant Baits around food or food containers. And third, be sure to dispose of Terro plastic containers as specified on the box. If you follow the specified measures, this product will be as safe as it is effective.

Active Ingredient:
