Mount the New Thermostat

Carefully stuff the wires back into the switchbox or into the wall, making sure you don't snap off any of the plastic connectors. (Some wires can be stiff -- you may have to use a little muscle to push the wires back inside.) Mount the new thermostat over the switchbox or directly onto the wall, and screw the thermostat securely onto the switchbox. Then turn the power back on to the thermostat, and check to see that it's working by switching the thermostat controls to a high temperature (or low temperature, if you're operating an air-conditioning unit). Your particular model may have a control or display panel that's slightly different from mine, but they all work basically the same. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for programming the thermostat to suit your schedule and temperature preferences, and you’re done -- almost.
