Always taught to lead instead of follow, Courtney realized early on that she wanted to inspire change in the world. Developing her skills in media and journalism has since allowed her to reach out and involve others in organic living and sustainable design.

Experience:

Courtney has experienced many different aspects of the media working as a photographer, writer, designer, and editor for both print media and the web. She has written extensively about home and living, and recently made the switch to environmental writing.

Courtney has traveled to many parts of the world to better understand the environment, and different ways of life. She is a passionate supporter of and activist for Greenpeace International, the NRDC, Co-op America, and the Humane Society of the United States.

Education:

Courtney received a Bachelor of Science degree in English, emphasis Professional Writing, from Brigham Young University Idaho in 2007. She also holds minors in Journalism and Chemistry and spent several months interning at Purdue University in the field of Materials Science and Engineering.

From Courtney Curtis:

I remember the first time I ever saw the movie Fern Gully: The Last Rainforest. Little did I know, I would experience the real Fern Gully when I traveled to the island of Jamaica 10 years later. Since then, my passion for the environment has grown every day, and I hope to help others realize how they too can make a difference.
