Though other countries have enthusiastically embraced sources of clean, green energy, it remains a small fraction of America's energy profile. Only nine percent of U.S. energy demand is met by renewable energy sources.
But all that's about to change. As the planet heats up from fossil fuel usage, and the air becomes more polluted, and oil and natural gas get harder and more costly to find, green energy will move in to take over. In fact, it's happening already.
