If you're thinking about a delicious pork loin for your holiday dinner, think about this: Consumer Reports found that almost 70 percent of the pork they tested contained dangerous bacteria (like yersinia enterocolitica) that can cause fever, diarrhea, and severe abdominal pain.
What's worse, many of these disease-causing bacteria are robust enough to resist the strongest drugs known, due to the reckless use of antibiotics by farmers. (It's worth noting that many of these antibiotics are banned in Europe, China and elsewhere.)
Pasta, anyone?
