Having traveled to several developing countries, I've noticed something that many others have also remarked upon: They have great public transportation.
And I'm not talking about buses where you're sharing your seat with 6 chickens and a goat. Sleek, clean, efficient and affordable train systems are commonplace throughout Central and South America, as well as many Asian countries.
We Americans, however, remain stubbornly opposed to any form of public transportation. Even carpooling smack of communism, apparently. What's your reason for hating mass transit?
