Today, while you're sitting at home or in your cushy little office chair, thousands of people are gathering in Rio de Janiero to do something about the environment. Or so we're told.
Like many, I'm rather skeptical of climate summits, environmental pow-wows and conservation confabs like this month's Rio+20 meeting. Sarah Laskow, writing in Salon, goes one step further and proposes getting rid of the entire so-called green economy.
Not sure I'm ready to be all that skeptical of green jobs, but I do agree that we're fiddling while the world burns. As I've stated before, humans are reactive, not proactive, and I fear we'll do something about the global environment only after we've destroyed much of it.
Have a nice day!
