SmartPower Launches Energy Conservation Video Contest

Wednesday October 29, 2008

Energy. With ever-changing gas prices, new energy innovations, and so much talk about global warming, it's almost always on everyone's mind.

But even though we're all trying to be more energy efficient, no one can seem to agree on the best way to solve Earth's emerging energy crisis. Should everyone move into smaller homes? Will more fuel-efficient vehicles do the trick? What?

Even though it seems like the little guy (that would be you) very rarely gets a say when it comes to global greening, it is he (or she) that will be producing a PSA for the SmartPower Energy Smart Online Ad Challenge. Oh yeah, and the winner will also take home a check in the amount of $10,000.

Money really does seem to drive everything, but at least everyone who enters the SmartPower contest will get to put their concerns about energy consumption to good use. And win or lose, there's a good chance your voice will be heard.

The YouTube contest runs through April 22, 2009 (better known to you tree huggers as Earth Day 2009), but it's never a bad idea to get started early. For more details about the SmartPower Energy Smart Online Ad Challenge visit the SmartPower website.

Too bad I don’t know how to edit video. And that kind of sucks that the contest starts now and goes until next April. What if you forget you entered?
