Fuel Consumption Lessens, Stays Low

Sunday August 31, 2008

At least one good thing came from the summer's outrageously high gas prices. Reuters reports that not only did gas consumption decrease when fuel prices were creeping up to almost $5 a gallon, but consumers have continued to keep their consumption low.

Certainly a good thing considering unleaded gasoline is one of the greatest carbon contributions made by the average American.

And now that prices have dropped (for the time being) everyone's seemed to have cut their complaining about fuel costs. I guess that means there are actually two good things that came from those overly-expensive barrels of oil. Go figure.

Very simple: I take more public transportation. I know many people who have either switched to buses or trains or opted for carpooling.
